Courtesy of Tasting Room “…The wine was aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels for 19 months. Merlot increased texture and softness on the mid-palate. Petite Verdot and Malbec added complexity and additional layers of ripe fruit flavors to the wine.”
First thought is that this wine is a lighter weight cousin of the ’07 Luna Cab. The cherry aroma stands out most and then a more subtle lighter layer of the sweeter berry like the strawberry vs. the plum and vanilla aromoas as indicated in TR’s tasting notes. The weight of this wine is surprisingly light although not unpleasantly so. Not being a big Pinot Noir admirer, I could see how besides filling the job of a typical cab pairing, this wine could easily be substituted for a Pinot and carry some of the chicken or roast lamb dishes I love to eat. A very nice wine, I would give it a 3 out of 5 star rating.
