This 2006 Syrah from Carpenter Hills Vineyard was a holiday gift to my spouse from the vintner. It delivers a very, did I say very, deep purple color to the rim. I like the fragrance. It is a mix of oak, vanilla, dark berries, notably cranberries. There is hint of alcohol vapor while not unpleasant it lingers a bit. Low acidity and mild tannins let you hold a bit in your mouth to feel it which is nice. Overall a nice wine you won’t go wrong with. Is it memorable? No, but a safe bet.
